Question / Help Is it possible to include subwindows in screencast

Hey!

I'd like to use OBS to do a simple streamcast capturing the use of Mono Develop, Unity and Photoshop for example. When I try to capture these windows, I don't get the capture to include any subwindows, so for example if I open a file, the file open dialog won't show up etc. This is a bit annoying. Is there a way to setup to capture a couple of applications and also capture their subwindows?

Yes, Disable Aero (if you're using Windows 7) and just use Monitor Capture.

Thanks! But when I do Monitor Capture I get everything, including OBS itself, Ideally I'd only want the windows and sub-windows of the apps I actually select to capture. Is there a way to NOT capture certain windows?

You can just minimize OBS to the system tray.

Post recording, is there any easy way to crop the captured video frames down to a certain portion, all through the video, or say a part of it ?
Maybe OBS doesn't have such a facility built-in, but maybe an additional piece of software.
