Question / Help Internet issues when recording?

So I recently got obs to record games like minecraft, and it worked fine for making clips and montages. But when I try and record commentaries on a multiplayer server, I drop from a 4 bar to a 1 bar. I don't know why this happens because I don't know why recording affects internet... So if someone could help me, I would be much appreciated.

Wifi is terrible for streaming or any sort of low-latency traffic. Have you tried plugging in?

Its not streaming that I lag, its when I record. I'm so confused to why I get internet lag when I record, because its fine when I don't record...

Can someone please give a solution to this? I am really eager to make a vid but this issues is making it impossible

You can't have internet lag caused by OBS while recording.
