Question / Help Input Lag When Streaming CSGO

I just found a post about this but his issue was webcam and video preview. I don't use a webcam, and preview doesn't help even close to what I need fixed.

Same as this other guy, I have well and above the needed hardware (I feel) to stream CSGO without this much difference between on stream and off stream. Any clue to how I can fix this?

Most people just say "2 pc stream" .. well yeah if I had 900+ bucks to drop on another tower I would. Looking for a simpler solution if there is one.

Thanks.

Do you cap your frame rate at all, either with vsync or the fps_max cvar? If not, that's probably contributing to the problem.

300 is a ridiculous cap (basically no cap at all) and if you can't get near it when you stream then your GPU is probably maxing out. Set the cap to something reasonable that your GPU can actually handle. Try 120 and see how that goes.

have you played csgo/league before? 120 makes the game seem very very slow. Most pros / players in general have cap at 300. Also letting you GPU max out isn't a bad thing either.

While I'm sure you feel that you're the expert on OBS, letting the GPU max out will absolutely have a bad effect on its performance. OBS needs a bit of GPU power for scene compositing so when you let the game max it out your performance takes a shit. If you aren't willing to cap your manage your system load then you may need to use a different program, or do what you originally suggested and build a second PC.

Okay, yeah I wasn't trying to say I knew more, just saying it's rough at less than like 200 fps. I'll try it out though.

It just needs to be at a value that doesn't max out your GPU. If you can run at 200 FPS without maxing it out, great. If you can't then you need to lower it further.

Is there a way to check if I'm maxing out? So I can find the sweet spot.

Yep, just GPU Load.

Steady while playing and streaming at ~50% GPU Load with 300 fps limit. I don't think it's the issue.

Edit: And the framerate lag / input lag is there.. It's a weird feeling, almost like I'm losing my refresh rate.
