Question / Help Ingame lag for me when using OBS

So, this is a problem I've had for a loooong time that has prevented me from being able to stream, I used to use xsplit and I've made several forum posts there and after a month of trying I just stopped and couldn't be arsed anymore, I recently decided I wanted to get back into streaming and tried OBS, and its the same thing here. I'm dropping SOOO many ingame frames it ridiculous, my game is completely unplayable. I dont even have to have the stream running, just the window capture on

Heres my PC spec

16GB Ram 2133MHZ
Intel Core i7 3770k 3.5GHZ IVy Bridge
MSI Geforce GTX 670
Corsar SSD Force 3 Series

100in and 10mb out internet connection

Setting:
Max Bitrade -3500
Buffer Size -1500
FPS - 30
Process Priority Class (Above Normal)
Scene Buffering Time (Milliseconds) 700
x264 CPU Preset (faster)
x264 Encoding Profile (high)
1842x1036 Resolution (custom)

And I have also tried lowering my setting on WoW and League of Legends to the absolutely lowest possible, I'm still lagging like hell ingame

I'm not sure how you decided on some of these settings but let's correct a few things and see if your performance improves.

- Don't use Monitor Capture in Windows 7 if you can avoid it. Enable Aero and use Window Capture or Game Capture.
- Use AAC instead of MP3, you'll get higher quality audio at the same bitrate.
- Don't set a custom buffer size.
- 1842x1036 is a rather odd base resolution. Set it to your monitor's native resolution of 1920x1080 instead.
- Try downscaling your stream resolution to 1536x864 or 1280x720.
- Change your preset back to veryfast. You can worry about playing with advanced encoder settings later.

Don't use Monitor Capture under Windows 7. It's so bad that it can (and does) cause in-game framterate drops and lag.
Definitely use AAC instead of MP3.
Drop your bitrate to (at most) 2000kbps if you are not a partnered streamer; without the transcoding options available, most of your viewers will complain about lag/choppiness.
