so it's my first time trying to stream, and ofcourse I am a little confused... I create my scene>create my source, selecting game capture and it brings up an error saying; "incompatible hook modules were detected in the OBS process. Please make sure OBS is added to the ignore list of capture programs such as DXTory, FRAPS, etc...and the stuff about changing the ignore list...but I'm not using an outside source for video capture, I'm using the one OBS provides. I'm not sure why OBS would ignore itself, thus I am confused as to how this is occuring.

If you use DXTory you need to add the OBS exe path (for example C:\Program Files (32bit)\OBS\OBS.exe) to the DXTory ignore list, then restart all the apps.

Have the same problem here. Not using ANY overlay programs (MSI Afterburner doesn't count cuz It worked perfectly on previus patch). But today I can't start streaming cuz of this error.

Just upgraded to 0.541b.

Never had any issues before.

Getting this one now, can't preview or stream at all.

Not using any program other than OBS. Opened a new scene with nothing in it - still can't record.

The new updated added incompatibility checks for ASUS OSD and EVGA Precision OSD. Make sure those programs are disabled, or set to ignore OBS.

also having a problem with this, it is MSI afterburner, if I shut MSI down, it works.. I cannot find a setting to ignore OBS in MSI, please help

GPU Tweak from asus which is basically the exact same thing works just fine with OBS, something got broke with this beta in regards to MSI afterburner

For me it was MSI Afterburner. Solved it by closing the program. No idea how to have both running at the same time.

This makes no sense...

I'm sry why would you implement this Check? I'm just curios never had any problems till this update. This really sucks I need afterburner open.

I made a temp build that fixes this issue for MSI afterburner users at (link removed) -- this will be either resolved or something that can be disabled in future updates

I got the same problem but i fix it by doin this! I've got 64bit and i just went here: C:\Program Files (x86)\OBS\64bit
And i opened "Obs.exe". If you are using 32bit try to go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\OBS and open that "Obs.exe".

The latest version of OBS should let you ignore this message, so you shouldn't need this special build. It's very out of date, anyway.

Is there any way to disable the error message entirely?

When I have a game open and use my hotkey to start streaming, it won't start streaming until I alt-tab out of the game to go to OBS and click Ignore which kind of defeats the purpose of having a hotkey to start it.

I have MSI Afterburner (with the OSD disabled, though it still seems to interfere with OBS) running to control the fan speed on my video card, as it's prone to overheat while gaming without it so closing out of it isn't really an option for me.

If there isn't any way to disable the error message, an option in the next build would be nice.

I thought that the option to disable it was available.

And yea, the MSI Afterburner utility is really useful, sometimes vital. For my previous video card, it was the only way to regulate the fan control properly to make it be quiet, so I know that feeling.

Try nvidia inspector for NV cards, it can do the same without hooking or being open all the time.

I had the same issue with MSI Afterburner. I easily fixed this by just using the 64bit version of OBS
