Question / Help Improving stream texts quality

Hi,

I'm streaming a low graphic MMO game.
This is a picture from my stream on source:

You can't read the text properly.
You can barely understand the character name.

I tried to play with my OBS setting but I didn't get any quality improvements so far.

This is my PC specs:
GTX 770
i7 3770S
16 GB RAM

Upload speed:

My OBS Settings:

I'm using Window Capture to stream my game.
My In-Game resolution is 1920x1080.

Maybe playing on lower resolution will help?
Also, If I do change the in-game resolution for a lower one, Do I still need to use downscale?

Thanks!

So I lowered my in-game resolution and it's seem to be a little bit better now.
Is there anyway to make it look better on higher resolution ?

yes, with 2500 bitrate, lower your frames per second to 30 or 48, which either would look better than 60fps. you see, the higher the fps and/or resolution, the less time the encoder spends on each frame for quality.

Test with 30fps as you are looking for more quality. now, drop the preset to fast and see what happens. be careful when dropping the CPU preset as each game will respond differently to this. make sure you check fast motion and not just a static picture. you can play with the preset at every resolution and find your lowest preset by watching cpu usage and frame drops on stream and in game.
I would suggest something like this:
720@60 veryfast
720@48 faster
720@30 fast or medium

when you get down to medium preset, you will see a decent sized quality increase but a major increase in cpu usage and you might also notice a bitrate spike. this is why I suggest 2500 instead of the 2600 you've been using.

also, use bi-linear filtering instead of lanczos. bi-linear will be sharper, lanczos will be smoother (more dithered looking) which isn't the best for fonts or images needing definition.

Last but not least, post a logfile once you find your ideal bitrate/fps/preset and I'll take a look. please restart OBS, stream for 5 minutes, then post a link to your logfile from the help menu
