Question / Help I'm would build a master control for stream multiple studios, can you help me ?

Hello everyone !
I'm working for an association in my university and we organize each year a big event with all of the students.

For that, we broadcast multiple hours of live TV & radio show. Since last year we started to stream all of the show on Youtube and we try to make it bigger this year.

For the event, we have a big live tv studio edited with a Tricaster with 6 cameras, we have also a HF wireless camera.
But we want to make bigger as I said so we decided to broadcast non-stop this time. It means we want stream another content from a second tv set during the preparation for the next tv show on the main studio.

For that, we already have 2 (maybe 3) SDI cameras for the second studio and we purchase some SDI/HDMI to thunderbolt converter from blackmagicdesign. It works perfectly with OBS (or with Wirecast).

We deed some research and we think it can be possible to setup an custom RTMP server but we want it to be easy to use (with graphic UI and login/password if possible).

How we see the logic :
- we have the main studio with a tricaster. The video and audio is sended by SDI or HDMI to an iMac (our university has a deal with Apple so we have plenty of iMacs) running with OBS
- This first "slave" imac stream the content via local network to an RTMP server
- The RTMP server receive the steam (with a path and password) and record the content on local hard drive
- during the same time, the second studio is equipped with another slave imac with OBS running on. We use the SDI/HDMI converters for capture video and audio and we play from OBS some video sequences that we edited before the event (video reportage etc). This second slave imac is stream also to the RTMP server
- At the end, the RTMP server receive 2 stream from 2 different slave imac from 2 different studio

What we want to do with the final RTMP server is to edit and switch whenever we want from stream1 to stream2 and also playing video reportage also (emergency case). For that editing we probably gonna use Wirecast (the last version).

I need help to build this setup :(

- is it possible to do that ?
- what kind of RTMP server we need ?
- do really need an RTMP server or can we use plugin or something else to stream from OBS to another OBS ?

i know it. That doesn't help me to build a master control with preview for editing. Its just a service to stream on multiple channel and we only gonna stream on youtube since our deal with google

thanks ! I didn't know that the video source plugin was able to play an RTMP feed. The only thing missing is a preview window and a streamed window.

Wich RTMP server you can advise me ? is nginx good ?

The nginx rtmp module is very efficient (if your total bandwidth demand is low enough <under about 80-100mbit total> , you can actually get by with using a raspberry pi as the rtmp server in your case)
