Question / Help I'm at my wits end trying to connect to YouTube

OBS and YouTube simply do not want to talk to each other. Every time I try to broadcast, I get a "Could not connect to server" error message (10060).

I've tried the default YouTube setting. I've tried creating a custom setting with the specific url.
I've disabled my anti-virus and my firewall.
I've lowered my bitrate. I changed the Custom x264 Encoder setting to "keyint=60."

I even downloaded the other OBS and gave that a try with no luck.

Streaming to Twitch seems to work fine, but I cannot connect to YouTube. Google and YouTube tutorials have failed me. I'm not sure what else to do.

A lot of people who are having the problem you're describing have had their DNS settings changed either on purpose or by malware.

I meant can you be more specific on how to check DNS settings and make sure they are using my ISP's DNS servers.

DNS settings are set to automatic. I flushed and refreshed with /ipconfig. Still can't connect.

I gotta get going, so it'll be a while before I can respond to this thread again. Thanks for the help thus far though.

Try explicitly setting your IPv4 address under Advanced / Network / Bind to interface.

That doesn't appear to be a thing on my Win 7 computer. I have Advanced/IP Settings, DNS, and WINS. None of when seem to have a "bind to interface option."

You might also wanna try changing your DNS Server to for example Google.
Maybe your ISP ones have issues.

Well, you'd never believe it, but the trick was apparently... wait for it... turn it off and turn it back on.

Specifically, my network adapter. I shutdown my network adapter and switched to wireless and got connected to YouTube. Obviously not a great connection since it was wireless DSL, but it connected.

Then I turned the network adapter back on and got connected again. Then turned the wireless off and.. was still able to get connected. So apparently that did the trick.
