Question / Help i5 to i7?

Currently I am set up with an i5-3570k. I mainly play/stream World of Warcraft. I turn down my graphics settings, but my CPU usage sits around 80-85%. And with Twitch's player, it nearly maxes out my CPU, to where I get the High Usage warning(meaning I can't even have my stream preview open on my dashboard). Would upgrading to an i7 help with that cpu load?
 
It would. Though it's still not recommended to have your stream playing back on the same computer you're casting from; there's a variety of reasons that many 'serious' casters have a secondary laptop nearby, and this is one of them.
 
Yeah, I just dont even run my preview, i usually pull it up on my phone, but sometimes it's difficult to see any issues there.

As an edit to my original question, suggestions on i7?
 
Going I7 could help, but so could switching the encoding to the quicksync encoder (which may affect quality, given that you're on a 3570 and not a 4xxx series i5)

You could just set up a pi on a tv (or just plain) using xbmc/kodi (kodi is the new name for xbmc starting with the next release as of this post) for your preview and get the bonus of hardware accelerated decoding.
 
Yeah I looked into that but I could not get my quick sync to activate. Followed multiple step-by-step guides to get the settings in my bios, with no luck.
 
You may need to attach a virtual monitor to your internal gpu. Did you check to make sure your intel graphics ended up loaded in device manager?
 
For a i5-3570k it's not needed to attach a virtual monitor, this is only for first gen i5 processors.
The integrated GPU does need to be enabled.
 
Sorry Im behind in getting to these replies. I do have the integrated enabled, however it does not show up in the device manager. And using Intel's driver update utility, it sad I have the up to date drivers. I currently have a 3 monitor set-up, would this cause any issues?
