Question / Help i5 2500-hd2000 bad quality qsv? here is a fix!

Hi guys!

So i had a problem earlier using QSV. It didn't matter what bitrate, etc i was using it still had crazy pixelation with my i5 2500 sandy bridge with hd2000igp.

I figured out what was causing the problem. It seems like that it's not related to OBS.
I tried using old version of OBS like the 0.583b then the newest 0.592b and the latest test build 0.60b test build 9.

I made a couple of streaming and local recording test sessions and the problem was with the latest intel igp driver for hd2000.

So if anyone out there that are still using i5 2500 with hd2000 i want to let you know that you just need to use an older version driver for your hd2000.

In my example i was using "11/18/2013-15.28.20.64.3347" when i had problems with qsv.
With this i had crazy amout of pixelation and it seemed like that it mostly ignored my maxbitrate settings in obs.

With the "8/18/2013-15.28.18.64.3223" i can finally make high quality low distorted-pixelated streams/local recordings as before.

Thanks for the read.

I have i5 2500 K Boxed, not sure if I have the Ify one. Anyway, I''m not sure but maybe I hav ethe same issue. When I stream or preview stream my sound gets a bit fucked. Like as if the sound is too loud for my earphones. If I stop streaming it's completely fine. I also do not get optimal FPS. Normally my FPS goes above 200 but now it doesn't really go over 60 and the screem isn't as smooth when I scroll the map. I tried to update my latest drivers for Nvidia but it didn't help. Perhaps I need new audio drivers? I have Intel ones when I look at Device Manager but also Realtek ones and Siberia headset ones and webcam ones?!

This is what the Intel website said:

Product Detected Intel® HD Graphics 3000
Current Driver Installed 9.17.10.3347
Your driver is current.

Am I good? Should I change something?

Hi there!

To Jim: I'm glad that i could provide some useful information.

To Hoodboss:
I don't experience any of those stuff you mentioned above.

The problem i had only affected my stream/local recording picture quality, nothing else.

I reverted my driver to 9.17.10.3223 (8/18/2013-15.28.18.64.3223):
