Question / Help I stream CSGO in fullscreen and I want my donations to display on stream, but I only have one screen

Hello chaps.

I'm setting up my stream correctly to have everything working when I really start streaming, and I have a small problem.

The problem is that I only have one screen, and I play fullscreen because VSync and not being able to set the gamma and brightness to what I want in-game is a pain, and that makes it impossible for me to display the donation alerts on stream.

I use the latest OBS version, I capture the game directly from OBS' game capture and I use SubAlert for donations.

How can I make this work? Is there a workaround? Or do I absolutely need a second screen to do this?

Thanks for all the help you'll offer, every little bit of advice is appreciated!

I believe SubAlert's instructions say to use the CLR Browser source to do alerts, so yes, it should be possible.

I must've skipped that part, I'm gonna read everything again. Thanks for the info!

Oh and, by SubAlert, I don't mean http://nightdev.com/subalert, I mean http://www.twitch.tv/subalert/profile

And you can actually read this in the FAQ:

How do i capture the window?

  • For now there are a few ways to capture the alerts. One is create a window capture of the main window. Once you launch the program create a window capture and select the desired window.
  • You can also create a subregion of your screen and select it as the source.
  • Sadly for this program to work properly you might need 2 monitors since the bar should always be visible on the screen

  • Im working in a way to add it to a OBS plugin or similar in order to make it more accessible for the users who only have 1 monitor.

Hello.
Im the creator of the TwitchAlerts (SubAlert) and yeah, as dodgepong says, you will need another monitor. Since its not a Web based app, you will have to keep it visible on the screen for it to show up on the stream.

With a single monitor, what i would recomend is to source the TXT files that the program provides so you can show it. It wont show up the popup but at least you can get some of the functionality until you get another monitor.

I'm working on a way to give you guys a way to get around this problem but so far there is no good solution at all :(

Hope it helps and if you have a question feel free to let me know, i will see what i can do to help you.
