Question / Help I need help!

I'm at my wits end! I've looked at all the other threads and I can't get any help. As I'm recording Minecraft, I can see on OBS that it is pausing every five seconds! It's very annoying and I'm about to just delete OBS and look for a new recorder!

I understand that you're frustrated, but threatening to use other programs really isn't going to get your issue solved any quicker.

Unfortunately, it's as I suspected from your original description.

The reason why you're getting frame skipping and freezes in the video is because your CPU only has two cores, and you have the video resolution set higher than it can handle. Two core CPUs can't really handle high definition live encoding very easily, you need to use downscale in video settings. You'll most likely have to use at least 1.25 downscale, or possibly more for that particular type of CPU. Alternatively, you could go in to advanced settings and set 'x264 CPU preset' to either 'superfast' or, worst case scenario, 'ultrafast', and only after testing that try downscaling. If you're just local recording you might be able to do it that way instead of scaling, so I'd recommend trying that first.

Bad News! I just recorded a 20 minute video and your suggestion didn't help! I don't understand the down scaling, so maybe you could help?

Downscale, in video settings. It changes the stream/recording/encoding resolution, and the more downscale you use, the less CPU usage it will require for encoding. You should really just consider investing in to a more ideal desktop at some point. Decent desktops are fairly inexpensive, but that's just my advise.
