I have got the beta version of obs studio so I can now stream with AV1 but its experimental so its going to have problems. And its not as good quality as NVENC.
With AV1 you can only stream to YouTube though. Twitch doesn't support AV1. I don't know if they ever will.

My stream that I just ended now has badly dropped frames. Large chunks are missing. Before I ended it, it showed dropped frames. So there is something that isn't set correctly.

Right at the start it begins and frames drop throughout the entire stream:

This is my stream from tonight. I am going to try the following tweaks and see what happens next time I stream.

I got those tweaks from this guide. Its old now but the basics still ring true.

One thing that may cause issues is:
00:08:28.787: Avast Antivirus: enabled (AV)
00:08:28.787: Avast Antivirus: enabled (FW)

Another one is
CPU Name: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

And you should review the analyzer:
Display capture should be always on its own scene, separated from game and window capture.

Please attach a log file form the stream with the dropped frames, or make a new test stream.

I have set exceptions for obs in Avast.
The other stuff I'll have to do tomorrow as I'm heading to bed. Too tired to think straight right now.

Avast

Frame rate mismatches

Running a plugin with beta OBS?

Crappy AMD GPU drivers

Could be any or all of them.

Yea could be Avast but that wasn't ever a problem before.
Not running any plugins with OBS. I never have. Don't even know how to.
I will check if there's a newer driver. Or should I roll back to an earlier driver?

edit: I've added an exception to AMD drivers (folder and Adrenaline)

I'm fairly certain I read somewhere that this can be an issue too, might want to disable it.

I'm not familar with that plugin so I took a look at it, looks like it is included with OBS as of v28. I haven't noticed that log entry in 29.0.1 so it may be something new in that version you're running.

I don't know what that is! I'm an English speaker and as such I don't speak any of those languages. So its of no use to me.
I ran the analyzer again after ending that stream and it mentioned something about audio maxed out.

I looked at the audio, didn't notice any sample-rate mismatches. Everything appears to be @ 44.1k. Avast more than likey is causing the audio & video to lag.

So I should disable it while I'm streaming? Or can I set an exception for the audio driver?

This was in your log. I really don't want to get too involved as I'm not running any AMD so I can't do any testing to make recommendations.

21:33:30.498: [win-capture plugin] Remote update of URL "https://obsproject.com/obs2_update/win-capture/v1/package.json" failed: The requested URL returned error: 404

What does that mean and how do I fix it?
This is normal on beta releases. Simple wait for the final release and it fixes.
From version 30+ this will work as expected, if there's no issue in between.

The CPU is important too, not only the GPU. Also, you're running everything on a single computer. Issues are expeted to happen with this.
