Question / Help I have trouble recording from MAMEUIFX64

I know that in order to record gameplay from MAMEUIFX I have to make a game capture for each individual ROM so that's not the problem, problem is most of the time for whatever reason OBS only records sound and no picture and ever so often it records both.
alt tabbing to check whether or not OBS is recording is a bad idea in this case so I just use my hotkeys as I always do to record but chances of it actually working are slim.
I need to record not Stream a whole bunch of games and so far I've only been able to record one. It's annoying when you think you're recording and find nothing but black videos at the end over and over.

Recording the screen or active window doesn't help either
 
Figured there was no need for one
it appears that both OBS and MAME have to be restarted after each new game you load, if you record a game and change to another game no matter what you do in OBS or MAME will make OBS record, but restarting both MAME and OBS and then loading a game works.

So basically you can record only one game per session, you can stop and resume recording but the moment you change or quit a game you have to quit and start both MAME AND OBS up again.
