My laptop is able to stream and it is almost 4 years old...
Why shouldn't he be able to game on that PC?
Comments like this are actually no help, most of the people are not able to just get a new PC.
Your laptop is probably stronger than a core 2 duo if it's 4 years old.
I did not say he can't game. I said I am surprised he is able to.
I'm not going to beat around the bush with this. His PC is extremely old. At the LATEST those parts were made in very early 2009. It's not a PC that CAN stream, and should not be stressed with streaming at this point in its life cycle. He might not have enough money. I get that. He might not WANT or CARE to upgrade. I get that. But long story short, he NEEDS an upgrade if he's going to have any sort of good time streaming.
And it's not just his CPU. His RAM is too limiting too. He'd need a program up that could display his chat, and that takes up extra memory; memory he is likely to not have dispensable. Even if he played LoL in a window negating the need for a second monitor, he is still going to run into a huge bottleneck while gaming and streaming, even if he was capable of getting good quality using something like superfast for a preset.
He has no hardware encoders available.
His RAM is quite slow, as DDR2 was the only thing sold with Core 2 series boards.
So no, my comment wasn't "no help". It is a harsh dose of reality. He cannot expect to stream with that in any kind of decent fashion and expect anything to go well. It will not work, and if it does work, he's going to have series issues, and his gaming experience will be greatly diminished. It is what it is.
I'm not going to sugar coat things for people. If I see a way to help, I will speak it. If someone like a certain previous member throws my help in my face, I will respond in kind. This user needs an upgrade more than any settings will give. His entire PC needs one.
