Hello,

When I play Battlefield 4 without streaming I have no problems whatsoever. When I start streaming though, Battlefield starts stuttering. It's like it makes my game miss a few frames.

I maintain above 60 fps while streaming.

My PC Specs:

Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core
8GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 780 3GB

I'd say this is a common occurance when streaming and playing Battlefield 4 on the same machine. I don't think you can fix this issue, other than simply switching to quicksync for encoding.

This does look like an issue with BF4 and OBS competing for CPU resources. The problem is probably more pronounced because of your high end GPU (no GPU bottleneck in the game means more work for your CPU). As AndehX suggested you should try using Quick Sync for encoding instead of x264.

When I try and use Quick Sync I get the error:

"QSVHelper.exe could not find a valid configuration. Make sure you have a (virtual) display connected to your iGPU"

You have to enable an additional display, set it to the Intel HD GPU and force it to output video to a virtual display. You will get an additional display that is not connected, but you can move your mouse and windows to this monitor.
Once you have done this, try Quicksync, it should work :-)

Its working great for me with 3 displays on my R9 270X and a4th, virtual - on my Intel HD GPU (i7 4770K) with Quicksync in OBS.
Sure you can plug a second monitor into the iGPU, but its not needed to get Quicksync working with OBS. It works on my laptop too with an Ivy i5 Dualcore and just a single built-in monitor :-)

Well, my point is, if you can't get the virtual monitor thing working (like I've *never* been able to) then you have to plug in a monitor.
