I got access to Twitch 2K Open Beta (1440P 60FPS) but it doesn't work

Good day,

I got 2K Open Beta Access to stream 1440P 60FPS on Twitch. However, I cannot do it. I followed the instructions on the Twitch FAQ but even that didn't helped me.

Setup is:

Ryzen 9 9950X
RTX 4080 Super
Asus X870
64GB DDR5 6000MHz
1300W Platinum Power Supply
Internet Bandwith 100DL - 50UL
1440p 165Hz 1ms Gaming Monitor
OBS 31.0.3

I enabled Enhanced Broadcasting but when I do a test stream of 1440P 60FPS, there's so much framedrops and it doesn't work at all. Plus, there's no new encoder after Twitch gave me access to 1440P (2K) open beta. I need assistance please because Twitch told me to contact OBS support for assistance as it is out of their control. They gave me access, so the rest is up to OBS.

Can someone please tell me or help me on how to stream 1440P 60FPS on Twitch???

Your help will be much appreciated

You should contact Twitch support on this. They should give you a way to contact them about issues with the 1440p beta streaming.
Make sure your connection is good. To do so you can use this tool: https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest
Anything below 90 quality is bad and most probably an issue on your ISP. As 1440p 60fps represent a lot more data transfering over the network you need to double check you network and your ISP network can handle it. Of course, it could be that your access to the beta is not activated at the same time you were accepted.

Thank you for the response. It is much appreciated.

I will run the tests as per your instructions. Thank you for the valuable information.

As for Twitch support, they always sent the same messages. I mean, they gave my Twitch Account access to 1440P (2K) beta streaming but I still can't do it. I know that I need the HEVC or H.265 encoder to be able to stream 1440P, but I still have the old encoder H.264.

I sent Twitch support an email that they should just activate the 2K access on their end in order for me to stream 1440P. I am waiting for their response now. They usually take 24 - 48 hours to reply.

P/s: Does anyone know when space waves game will release new levels?
Are you using NVENC (new) as your encoder in OBS?

I’m having the same issue.
Strangely, the logs only show the old NVENC encoder whenever I activate Enhanced Broadcasting.
My dashboard says I’ve been accepted into the 2K beta, but no matter what I try, I can’t get it to work.

Maybe someone will figure out a solution.
The generic Twitch support told me to switch to AV1...
Kinda funny... didn’t even know AV1 streaming was already a thing on Twitch.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience bro. Guess what?

I am streaming 1440P 60 now. I am still on the old encoder. There's no HEVC or AVI Encoders. Still the old one. It's working 100%. Only in the beginning of the stream for 3 minutes, there's Framedrops. After that, all is good.

Do Not enable Ignore Streaming Services. If you do, the stream won't work. Also, set your tracks to 3 only. It will run on a 14000 - 15000K Bitrate which is sufficient for 1440P, 1080P and 360P transcoding. Let me know how it went on your side.

Try it out and see if that will work for you too.

Wow, this has to be one of the worst beta rollouts I’ve ever seen from Twitch haha. Glad to hear it’s working on your end though! Unfortunately, no luck for me... I’ve tested literally everything. It has to be 100% on Twitch’s side. Let’s see if I get a reply next week. I even stripped down my entire OBS setup and now I’m standing here without my stream setup and no 2K stream, lol xD

That you can say again bro. It is the worst rollout. Some people even got the 2K access with the HEVC encoder, but we didn't. So, I am streaming just like this for now with the old encoder because my PC can handle it. However, I cannot really multistreaming because that will cause too much strain on all my PC resources.

I did the same thing like you. Stripped my entire OBS just to make use of Twitch 2K beta but I had no luck. No I am just streaming with what I have at my disposal. It works at least and the viewers can view the stream without issues. They love the quality. Even when it becomes available globally, not many people will be able to stream in 1440P. Your PC must be able to handle it.

I hope you will get good feedback from Twitch. I would like to know

Yeah, I specifically upgraded to AM5 for this. Right now I’m running a 9950X3D and a 4070 Ti Super.
Multistream is running great. Twitch is currently powered by x264, and YouTube is getting the 2K feed at 16,000 bitrate.
According to official specs, the 4070 Ti Super can handle up to 8 encoder processes, so it should be more than capable for Enhanced Broadcasting once Twitch sorts things out.
I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything more specific from Twitch.

You got a very nice CPU. I have the Ryzen 9 9950X paired with RTX 4080S and I am on a Single PC setup. Your Twitch encoder should be powered by Nvidia Nvenc and not X264 bro. That can also cause a lot of issues on 1440P streaming. CPU encoding won't be able to handle 1440P 60. Maybe 30 FPS only. Your RTX 4070Ti Super can handle multiple streams but you need to change your encoder to Nvidia Nvenc. Not x264. You won't be able to handle 1440P 60 FPS streams.

Please let me know how it goes. What the feedback is. I will appreciate it

When you enable Enhanced Broadcasting, your actual encoder settings get overridden doesn’t matter if you’ve selected NVENC or x264.
I used to run a dual PC setup before, but I ran into too many issues with the game capture card.

Yes, I know that the EB overrides it. But I still put mine on Nvidia Nvenc before I enable EB. When I set it to X264, I can't stream 1440P. Try it and see if it works for you as well.

I’ve tested it with NVENC, Quicksync, and even AMF H264. According to the logs, Enhanced Broadcasting always defaults to 1080p with a 6000 bitrate, and it still uses the same outdated NVENC encoder.

I have exactly the same issues.

- Enhanced Broadcast is enabled.
- Resolutions all set to 2560x1440.
- my upload is 50mbps

I am uploading to twitch with enhanced broadcast 3 video tracks with around 9000.
if i keep max video tracks on auto, its arout 10.000-11.000 (caused by multiple track rendering and streaming).

I analize the receiving stream with: https://inspector.twitch.tv/

which all the time shows:
- the wrong codec. video codec 7 which is h264 instead of hevc.
- the wrong resolution. 1920x1080 instead if 2560x1440.
- the wrong bitrate. 6000 instead of around 7500.

this should be a 2k stream, but it is not:
map[2.1:false 3.1:false 4.0:false 4.1:false 5.1:false 7.1:false audiochannels:2 audiocodecid:10 audiodatarate:160 audiosamplerate:48000 audiosamplesize:16 duration:0 encoder:obs-output module (libobs version 31.1.1) fileSize:0 framerate:60 height:1080 stereo:true videocodecid:7 videodatarate:6000 width:1920]

so something is definitely going wrong here.

as far as i know, the enhanced broadcasting should show multiple video streams in the inspector and not just a single stream. also with a different codec than 7.

If several users are experiencing the same issue, it strongly suggests that the problem is on Twitch’s side

Yes, my Hardware Acceleration is enabled. I would suggest that you out it on 14000 Bitrate and see how it goes with 3 Video Tracks only. It's strange that you can't stream 1440P 60FPS. I do without issues.

Twitch Inspector only show 1 stream. It doesn't show 3 or 4 streams. It always show the main stream which is the 1440P 60FPS one.

thanks. its good to know that twitch inspector only shows 1 stream even in enhanced broadcasting mode.
