Question / Help I can't hear desktop audio on an .mp4 file, but when placed in editing software, I can.

So I wanna record desktop audio and my mic audio on 2 separate tracks, it does work, when I put the mp4 file in Premier pro to check if the audio tracks are separate, they are separate, and I can hear both desktop audio and mic audio. However, when I play the mp4 file as is (not in editing software), it only plays my mic audio and not my desktop audio. I have absolutely no idea why it does this, it shows both in premier pro, but not in the file as is. Help is much appreciated.

That is normal. A regular playback program like VLC will only play back one track at a time out of a multitrack recording.
