How to stream while saving only audio tracks locally?

Is it possible to stream at the same time as recording only audio tracks?
I want to be able to download the VOD from stream, rather than recording locally, but have my multi track audio setup still available. This would save me space and resources compared to having the video recorded locally too.

Essentially, can i record without video while streaming?

If not, i think this would be a great plugin or feature to add. Especially with the youtube HEVC and AV1 support, so quality (at 1440p+) is good enough to not have to record locally

Don't use the "Same as Stream" option for recording, and then kill the video quality? It'll still take *some* space, but it won't be nearly as much.

Or, you might use the Audio Monitor plugin to send things to a bunch of loopbacks, pick up those loopbacks in a DAW, and have the DAW record multitrack.

Up to 5 stereo loopbacks here:
Each one creates a virtual speaker and a virtual mic. Send something to that speaker, and it appears in that mic, thus connecting audio between apps that have no other knowledge of each other.

DAW = Digital Audio Workstation. A complete sound studio in one app. Once you have one, you might even do ALL of your audio work in there, and use a single loopback to feed OBS instead of going the other way. Then OBS has exactly one audio source, from the DAW through that loopback, that it passes through unchanged.

Lots of those to choose from, with not much correlation between price and features. I like this one because it's free and does a lot:
