Trying to stream BF4 with game capture but I keep getting BF4 has stopped working.

Do I need to use dxtory or am I doing something wrong?

Any help appreciated

You guys are both getting BF4 crashing? When BF4 launched I watched multiple OBS streams via game capture without any problems from friends. You guys don't have any special graphics/video utilities open while playing do you (fraps/etc)? Or maybe overlay applications such as teamspeak or mumble overlays? They often cause crashes when used with game capture. I have to always check that first.

I am just now getting this error as well. no other programs running at all besides OBS, origin and BF4. Game Capture was working on BF4 mere hours ago and now if I enable game capture on it BF4 crashes.

OK, I'm silly I know but... What's "game capture"? We're talking about different software or OBS option? oO

I'm new and very confused. Why would someone use other software to stream games while streaming with another streaming software? Dxtory helps somehow?

Game Capture is a capture mode/source in OBS. It hooks the game directly in video memory, resulting in VERY fast capture, especially as compared to Monitor Capture (which is slow as frozen dog**** under Win7 at least).

DXtory is an alternate for-pay capture program that essentially does a monitor capture, and pretends to be a webcam source so it can be added to casting software. As XSplit is tremendously bad at this kind of capture, many use DXtory under it to overcome XSplit's major, glaring failings. Something that isn't generally required under OBS, as Game Capture is actually faster than DXtory to begin with.

Digging up a thread from months ago generally isn't the best method to ask this kind of thing, either. :) Just saying.
