Question / Help How to record audio exactly as I hear it in my headphones?

Hi there,
I've been trying to get set up so I can record/stream but the audio is giving me some trouble.

I have game audio coming through the optical port and then teamspeak audio coming through the normal audio port (I use Astro A40s with the mixamp).

Most of what I play, I play on teamspeak with friends so the game and voice audio(s) needs to be balanced.
The way I have the audio coming through my headphones is perfect, but when I record; the game sound is extremely loud.

I think it has something to do with the fact that game sounds comes from the optical port.

Is there a way to just record exactly what I hear as I hear it from my headphones?

Thanks,
Daniel

Can you try to see if this works?
Change the volume on Windows .. right-click the sound icon on your bottom right(taskbar) > Open Volume Mixer - then manually lower the games audio volume(all running applications that have audio will appear there)

If you were using a Capture Card... then OBS it self will offer you a volume control on it through properties of that source

You change either of them and definitely you can control the volume for only the game that way.

Just in case so you can Visually see if the game audio is being lowered for the recording/stream - just pay attention to the Volume bar audio below the Sound icon on OBS on the right side - you can see how your whole audio is coming through that
