Question / Help How to prevent stuttering/freezing by lowering quality?

Hello, I have a problem. I'd really like to stream first person shooters in 720p but my processor can't handle it, it stutters and freezes (AMD Athlon II x4 640). I'm buying a new computer because of this. Until then, I'd like to stream in a lower quality without freezing and stuttering. I know that my computer can handle it because I streamed in lower quality without stuttering earlier, then I wanted to stream 720p when I found out (I did not know yet that my processor could'nt handle it). I started messing with settings, but now I know that my processor can't handle it, I wanna stream with lower quality (how I streamed earlier) but I forget what the best settings are. So basically I wanna know how to stream without stuttering with lower quality (I'd say 480p) until I get my new computer. Do I need to mess with resolution downscale or base resolution? I put in my OBS log so you can see what my 720p settings are (when it freezes and stutters and my processor cant handle it)

First of all, I see you have a ton of Window capture sources and Aero is disabled. If you want Window capture to perform better, you should enable Aero. Just make sure you don't use any Monitor capture sources.

I see you're capturing at 720p with the Elgato, so you can leave your base resolution at 720p. From there, you can use the Resolution Downscale to lower the resolution to 480p with the 1.5x downscale factor. Another thing you can chance to reduce CPU load is the x264 preset, which you can try changing to superfast.
