Question / Help How To Get OBS NDI Working with Windows 7?

I can't find any information other than my own previously unanswered post regarding this query.

Has any other user out there with Windows 7 successfully installed the OBS NDI plug in and been able to record using Windows 10 as the recording Computer?

All my efforts result in OBS crashing on the Windows 7 PC as soon as I go to launch not matter how many times I completely remove and try again.

Have others struggled with the same thing?

I am still trying :) I absolutely love it with windows 10 to windows 10 ... but really need this service for windows 7 to windows 10.

I was able to setup a direct lan connection via manual IP on the windows 7 machine, however had to revert back to automatic obtain ip in order for the OBS NDI plug in to install as it kept breaking connection (until I change the ip4 back to auto obtain ip)

After trying again ... manually removing everything ... checking app data - may documents and emptying recycle bin + doing a registry clean with c cleaner ... then finally a restart ...

I followed a guide here for the install:
http://streamersquare.com/ndi-guide-for-dual-pc-streaming/

This time OBS did actually open up ... but was short lived, as after I click on the windows security alert:

THE PICTURE IS JUST EXAMPLE OF WHAT I MEAN ... NOT RELATED TO OBS:
example of windows security alert.JPG

OBS glitched/froze and then shutdown after several seconds of jOBS being a white screened window.
______________

Going to try again and click cancel on the security alert this time ... if I get that far ... as I have no interest in streaming? OR do I still need to allow regardless? Doing so seem to crash it that last time?

Question for you:

When installing the OBS NDI Plugin ... Do I have to change the Directory as when I click on install .. its says
"that directory already exists" ... do I just click install anyways? That is what I have been doing as I have read no instructions to create a new folder when installing OBS NDI plugin? I just click install anyway.

Before OBS Error.png
OBS error after naming NDI ouput.png

So OBS launched ... but as soon as I gave the the NDI Output a name .. I got the error and the program no long opens ... it just continues to repeat the error. I uninstalled the Newtek 4.0 addon and then the OBS NDI plugin ... I think I will give up.

:(

Has to be this issue with windows 10 not seeing my windows 7.
I suck at networking. They took home group away from windows 10 ... Hope the above link comes up with a fix.

After much research - OBS cannot be used to record from windows 7 to windows 10.

If you know different - then by all means, show us the setup procdure in easy to understand steps.

I doubt it which is why I have given up.

The OBS communty response has been overwhealming. Thumbs Up!!!

Laughs Out Loud. ;)
