Question / Help How to crop webcam?

Is there a plugin or anything to crop the webcam to fit into something. I don't mean re size but lets say I wanted to crop my camera into a health pool on a certain game so I would need to crop it into a circle. Is there anything out there that can do that?

As far as I know to crop a webcam in a scene, simply holding Alt while editing & re-sizing the scene crops out what you don't want to show in a webcam. With that, you could simply put a circle overlay on top of it. That would be the easy way.

Apparently, OBS does have the coding to allow you to add an overlay in the program in any shape and you would just chroma key the outside of the circle out but I have yet to see it implemented into the UI.

If you REALLY want that circular webcam, you can put the effort in and just get some cardboard and bright green spray paint and cut out a circle to place in front of your webcam. After you chroma key the green cardboard out, it should leave the shape you want like in this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/zvPNYPc_03A?t=5m46s

Hope this helps!

OBS Multiplatform has alpha masking layers to allow you to do this. OBS Classic does not.

The 'classic' ways were the foamcore method mentioned above (which has the major down side of being a pain to match if you have a chroma backdrop) or using a cam-effect program to overlay a vignette of a solid color (matching your backdrop). Down side to the second method is that it increases CPU usage, and can add a delay.

If you don't mind the missing features (and frankly terrible UI) in MP, go with that. It's way simpler.
