Question / Help How does obs handle multi channel audio?

Hi i have a 7.1 system and i wanted to ask how does obs handle multichannel gaming? does it record just 2 of the channels or does it mix it in stereo? i had some problem with evil within and obs, in here:

as you can see when he moves up and down sounds like it's missing a few channels. Is it better if i just game on stereo? but i would really like not to have to disable the 7.1
 
It downmixes all the channels to stereo, doesn't just cut off channels (or shouldn't). It's all detailed in the source code. Should be a bit better in the multiplatform version though.
 
ok thanks for the info, so it was an isolated problem with evil within then, i'll just set it to stereo for that game.
