Question / Help How do I tell OBS to ignore sound input from my microphone?

If you're listening to your voice through your default speakers (audio return) then you'll have this. You need to direct the audio back into your headphones

Can't I just have it pick up 1 application sound only instead of all of my applications?

Even with headphones on it would pick up my voice, right?

Skype shouldn't be playing back your mic audio. Just click the microphone icon at the bottom-right under the preview window. It will still capture incoming audio from Skype though (from whoever you're talking to).

No, there is no way to record on a per-process level; that isn't how the Windows audio subsystem works. Stop using Skype, focus on interacting with your stream/viewers. Casters who ignore their stream in favor of a personal conversation with a friend are snubbing their viewers, and will be less likely to get return viewership. If it's a conversation about the game, people generally want to hear what's going on at the teamwork level.

Ah, yeah. Still no way to per-process audio record. Look into VB-Audio to create a virtual interface; if you can tell your game which one to use, you can point OBS at the virtual device.

I made this about a year ago so I can listen to music and play without copyright vods. Just do the same but have teamspeak or whatever come out of the virtual line
