Question / Help How Do I Stream CS:GO With 1mb Upload Speed

I know this is not an ideal speed for streaming and that I need faster internet, but since that's not an option right now I wanted to know if there was anything I could do to possibly have a decent stream of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive without having extremely high ping. My download speed is 10mb/s and my upload speed is 1mb/s, and what I think is happening is OBS is taking power from that download speed and using it to stream with the upload speed making CS:GO lag due to a low download speed. I get around 400 ping when I stream. I have both the minimize network impact and automatic low latency mode boxes checked, but I still am getting around 300 - 400 ping in CS:GO when I stream. I wanted to know if there were any other factors I could change to be able to stream it while maintaining a playable ping. My bitrate is also set to 800. If you need any other information let me know and thanks in advance for any help.

Games don't only use download. They use upload as well, to send information about your actions to the server and ACK(nowledge) incoming network traffic as a part of how TCP/IP operates.

You will need to drop your OBS bitrate to use less. Be aware that video and audio bitrates are handled separately; so if your video bitrate is set to 800 and your audio is set to 160, you'll actually be using 960kbps. Also note that speedtest sites are worthless for livestreamers, and what your ISP says you should get is even less useful. It's really a question of trial and error, testing at what point you can stream reliably. And then usually dialling it back a few points to accommodate for network fluctuation.

I'd probably start by dropping the video bitrate to 600 or so, and dropping audio rate to 96, 64, or lower, if it's not already there. You'll probably be able to pull off a 480@30 stream, though might have to drop to 360p to make it watchable. That should only use around 700kbps upstream, leaving 300 for your game's communication. It's still going to have an impact on your ping though.
