I'd like to start with a simple video clip ... I have downloaded OBS Multiplatform (Win7) ... default settings.

Action:
1) open PowerPoint
2) add a Scene (PP)
3) add a new Source (Window Capture) ... Window combo box is set to "PowerPoint file name" ... Window Match Priority combo box is set toe "Window Class" ... Capture Cursor is unchecked ... Multi-adapter is unchecked ... select OK button.
4) select "Start Recording" button.
5) set PowerPoint to full screen, and move through a few slides.
6) select "Stop Recording" button.

Did I do this correctly? How do I save this video clip? Thanks!

start and stop recording might have already saved a video in whatever was in "File Path" in OBS broadcast settings. If not able to playback video, use either VLC, or k-lite codec pack.

Sorry for the slow response. Thanks for the clarifications.

What are good programs to use to play .flv files? What format should I use when the final version will be uploaded to YouTube?

I see YouTube video clips appear to be .flv and mp4. Is there a way to load my .flv video clip, and save it as an mp4? Is there a way to edit my video clip using OSB?
