Question / Help How do I change the SHAPE of a webcam? I need it to be CIRCLE.

Hi there, quite strange thing to ask but I never have found a fix for such an easy thing.. how do I manipulate the shape? I dont want it to be a box shape but a nice circle.

There is currently no way to change the shape of a webcam like that. You can crop the top/bottom/left/right, but you can't apply a mask. You will be able to do this in the OBS rewrite, though.

For now, people imitate round webcams by having an overlay with a round cutout. Not quite the same, but has a similar-ish effect.

You can also use a 'cam effect' program to add a chroma-keyable overlay. So just a green field with a round clear part in the middle, overlaid by the effect program, then fed into OBS and chroma'd out from there.
I'd requested built in alpha overlay masks as a feature a while back, but I'm guessing it got back-burnered with the rewrite and all. :)

I believe the OBS rewrite already has this functionality coded, but it's not accessible from the UI yet. I'm not sure about the details.
