Question / Help How do I add black bars to stream for sharper quality?

So my theory was that adding black bars helps my quality.

I have a 2560x1440 monitor and downsampling looks rly uggly

my spec:
10mb up
4820k i7
780 ti

The black bars that get "added" have to do with aspect ratio problems, not picture quality.

i have a second monitor that should be 1920x1080

can i somehow play in 2560x1440 and output stream to my second monitor?

if yes, does the monitor have to be turned on ? :'D

And what good do you think that would do for quality?

The feed will still be in the same aspect ratio.

true..... what if i make it windowed? so i can set the size of one window to 2560x1440 and the other to 1920x1080

So far nothing you've suggested has anything to do with the picture quality on the stream.

i don't want to play in 1920...

edit: is still don't understand why black borders won't help to make it look sharper

Play at what you normally play at and downscale in OBS then.
