I have recently started experimenting with streaming Battlefield 4.
I don't understand why does my framerate drop so much when my CPU usage is not even 70%, and according to Process Explorer, OBS uses only about 3% of GPU in addition to whatever CPU usage it has.
When OBS is not active, (in this particular place on specific map) CPU usage is in the 45-50% range, and I get roughly 58 FPS.
On veryfast preset, I take about 8 FPS hit, and CPU usage goes up into 55-60% range.
On medium preset FPS drops down to about 45 average, so more than 10 - but CPU usage is still only up to 70-75%! And there are no spikes at all, it doesn't go above this range.
Considering I am not hitting any performance limits of my PC, I don't think the other OBS settings are important, but I will post them if asked.
Could anyone shed some light onto this?
