So I have an arduino that is acting as a usb keyboard sending real keyboard signals, no virtual signals, to OBS and the key signals that it sends to OBS for hotkey purposes works when OBS is the focused or not focused window at first but then stops working for the not focused case after 10-20 seconds. The hot keys will continue to work if OBS is the active window but not if I navigate away from OBS. If I unplug and plug the usb back in it will work again in both states for 10-20 seconds, but then it stops, and I wind up in the same situation as before, works if OBS is active, doesn't if it isn't. I know the keypresses are continuing to make it to Windows because my other applications are showing the key presses just fine.
If I use my main keyboard to send the same key combo then OBS switching when not active just fine.
I have tried running OBS as admin as well as not as admin and neither way have worked after that 20 seconds.
I've also changed the key presses being sent from the arduino to be as long as 200ms so there is no question about whether or not OBS could miss it via polling and that hasn't helped either.
Log doesn't actually show anything useful https://obsproject.com/logs/HXK7OVj9xxgZzy1u just what appear to be some video errors
Running OBS 23.2.1 64-bit on Windows 10
