Question / Help Hotkey's are not working.

So I was playing on a minecraft server and I tried to hit the hotkey button to start recording, but the it didn't start. The hotkey would only work if I had the OBS software page up. I've been trying to find a solution to this problem and I haven't found one, can someone please help? Its really annoying to have to open the software page up every time I want to record.

If this is some problem with my settings I apologize for wasting your time (i just downloaded the recording software this morning).
 
well then, I feel like an idiot. All I had to do was run the program as Administrator for the hotkeys to work...
Sorry for wasting your time.. (im and idiot)
