High GPU usage when replay buffer is on.

Hi there,

I used to use OBS to record my videos all the time while playing Valorant and CS, and it always worked fine with 5-10% GPU usage during replay buffer. Recently I moved and went about 8 months without re-building my PC. I just finally put together my PC again, literally same exact specs as before the 8 months:

7800X3D
64GB DDR5
3080 10GB
Using NVENC H.264 and i tried NVENC HEVC.
I have tried recording to every single format, they all use high GPU.
I have tried disabling audio completely, no change.

After putting together my PC again, reinstalling the new version of OBS, my GPU usage is now sitting at 50-60% sometimes going up to 70% with the replay buffer on. It creates stutters in both CS2 and Valorant since my GPU ends up sitting at 100%. In games where usually my gpu is at 40-50%. But due to OBS hogging up most of it, the games have these micro stutters. As soon as i turn off replay buffer, games are smooth again. Using Shadowplay has none of these issues and I've fallen back to using shadowplay for now. It's just OBS allows me for more freedom with the settings of what I want to record etc.

Hey, just wanted to chime in here and mention that disabling 'Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling' within windows fixed what seems to be a similar issue to you.

Like you, before my OBS would sit at 5-10% but with a fresh install of windows, I would see my GPU usage climb from 10%-80%, then drop to 10% again, doing that over and over. After disabling HAGS, I no longer experience the high GPU usage or 'climbing' GPU usage.
