Question / Help High Encoding CPU Usage, Stream constantly freezes?

Hi. I have been streaming with OBS for a few weeks, and have constantly played around with the settings to reduce frame drops and lag. Another problem I have, however, is sometimes my stream will freeze up for a few seconds and continue (this happens every 5 seconds), OR sometimes the stream will freeze up for up to 1 minute, and barely ever play smoothly. Any help with how I can prevent this freezing up from happening? Thanks :)
