HeyRobert!

Been for about 2 months now, and suddenly my CPU usage is high.. with game running i use about 4%-25% jumping between. when i stream it jumps all the way to 97% and i get the warning of high cpu usage.

I stream in 720p 60fps

processor amd fx (tm) -6200 six core processor 3.8 ghz
8 GB RAM
64 bit Os

GeForce GTX 650Ti video card

no idea what fps monitor could be on.

Game capture detected a hook conflict but was unable to determine which application was responsible. Try closing any other applications that may be injecting into your game, such as FRAPS, D3DGear, MSI Afterburner, AMD Raptr / Gaming Evolved, Action!, TeamSpeak/Mumble Overlays or any other kind of FPS monitor or overlay program

depending on the game 720p60 is heavy on your cpu anyway so im not really surprised though providing an log if you have problems as the stickies on this forum tell you to would be nice.

Has the game you have been streaming changed at all? Has it patched? Have you stopped using vSync? Does using older versions of OBS fix the issue? Have you tried closing all programs but the game/OBS and seeing if your CPU still maxes out?

playing same games from League, Insurgency, Cities:skylines, Evolved. Havent messed with any of the settings. I'm Ganna try an older version this weekend.. CPU still maxes out with everything but the game and obs along with the essential programs..

I use to stream on xsplit on 1080p 30 fps no issue no frame drops nothing, I switched to 720p thinking less stress on the computer plus i love the look of it in 60fps.. Now I cant even stream a game, this happened the first few days of April.

Computer basically had drivers updated, after this issue no hardware change.

The CPU still maxes out. should it really max with with 8gb of ram and six core?

I'll provide a log here later today, its frustrating, coming home from work and dealing with this... going from 1080p to you cant even stream...

Well your CPU is quite weak, and Xsplit uses the system very differently to OBS... Xsplit would have hampered your in-game performance greatly but allowed your stream to do as much of what you set it to do as possible. OBS simply pulls the required power from your CPU and slightly from your GPU, and your games take a significantly smaller performance hit; but in the same breath run faster/require more resources from the system. While Xsplit

You should try using vsync on the games and see if it improves any. I believe that might help your CPU usage from the games themselves.

Also, I highly suggest you force OBS to ignore the 1st core of your CPU when streaming LoL.
If Windows 7: Open processes tab in task manager after launching OBS. Right click obs.exe and select "set affinity". Un-check core #0, and hit ok. You will need to repeat this every time you launch OBS again.
If Windows 8: Open task manager. Hit the "more details" downward arrow and go to the "details" tab, and then repeat the process as with win 7.

Was streaming just fine, no high CPU usage, now its unstable connection... was just streaming League in 60 fps with no issues till now. None of this makes sense.
