Hello,
i have problem..when im streaming im aswell recording that stream to my pc. When i start obs takes normaly 35% of my cpu but after 2 hours it goes to 50% usage. It's definitely because of recording i tried to stream without record and everything was ok for 4 hour stream. But I really want to record my stream because twitch mutes the vods.

I stream at 720p 30 fps 2000bitrate.
My pc specs:
  • RAM: Kingston Value 8GB DDR3 1333
  • MB: ASUS B85M-G - Intel B85
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4570S
  • GPU: GIGABYTE HD 7850 Experience 1GB
I add log file aswell from my last stream when i recorded aswell.
Thanks for any tips !

I am also having a similar issue. I stream and local record to my pc. After about 5-6 hours of streaming, I get the "Warning: High CPU usage" warning on obs. Shortly after my stream starts lagging/stuttering. My cpu usage sky rockets to 95% then back down to 50% and keeps jumping around.

I stream at 720p 60fps 3000 bitrate
My pc specs:

RAM: 16gb
CPU: Intel i7-4790k
GPU: Asus GTX 970

I have seen some old posts about this issue already on the forums and so far looks like it is an issue with obs? I have not tried clicking "stop recording" and then start recording again, without ending the stream to see if this changes anything.

I am using OBS v0.65b 64bit

Interesting to note, on my old pc which is far inferior compared to the pc specs I listed above, has never had this issue.

I have not updated OBS on my second pc and it is OBS v0.64b 32bit

On this pc I stream at 720p 30fps 3000 bitrate
Pc specs:

RAM: 8gb
CPU: AMD Phenom II 960T quad core
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6700

Quite a few differences between these two pcs so I will continue to test different things to see what I find.

@Deadhuoup Try lowering your webcam resolution from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 and see if that helps. If the problem persists you can also try removing the webcam as a source entirely.

@Ven9eance In the future please make a new thread about your own issue. For now you'll need to post a log as Deadhuoup has.

@Deadhuoup I tested something I read about on old forum posts. After a few hours of streaming+local recording, the "high cpu usage" warning appeared, then I pressed the "stop recording" button on obs (but kept live streaming) and re-pressed "start recording" again to continue local recording. This seemed to stop the "high cpu usage" warning. Hope this works for you too.
