Question / Help Help with stream looking grainy/pixelated/blurry

Hello all,

I have been trying to setup my OBS correctly to make my stream look nice. I have tried down-scaling, messing with bit-rate, etc.

Here is a past broadcast as I did for a test: https://www.twitch.tv/itzph4ntomz/v/65834237

My upload speed is around 5mpbs on Ookla but I only get around 2900/3100. Do I need my bit-rate to be higher? something with resolution, buffer size? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Phantomz

Post an OBS log file from at least five minutes of high action gameplay. And link the Twitch VOD that corresponds with that log.

You aren't likely to get a decent looking stream within Twitch's bitrate limitations trying to stream at 1080p45. Try downscaling to 720p, and perhaps lowering the FPS to 30.

Your expectations may be unreasonably high for the type of bitrate you're able to use on Twitch, especially for high motion content like CoD and other first person shooters.

3500 Kbps is the max, but going that high can increase the chances that some of your viewers will experiencing playback buffering. The general recommendation for non-partners is 720p30 at 2000-2500 Kbps.

I am using 720p at 30fps at 2300kbps, still looks pixelated(ish) or blurry, If I got 3000 my stream kinda lags for viewers. oh well I guess it doesn't look to bad compared to other streamers. Thanks for the help
