Hey all I'm pretty new to all this have only streamed using OBS a couple times have always just used Elgato software in the past. I'm going to be streaming/recording Black Ops 3 from PS4 as well as H1Z1 and Minecraft from the PC. I was streaming H1Z1 the other night and the game was crazy laggy with my skipping all over. Turning off OBS made the game playable again. I have a decently higher end PC so not quite sure why this is happening. Here is my PC and ISP specs...

Intel 4770K @ 4.3ghz
Gigabyte Z97 Ud5h
16gb Corsair 1866
2 x gtx970 sli
1 256gb ssd, 1 128gb ssd, 1 3tb WD black storage
Elgato hd60 pro
Astro A40 w/mix amp
2 120hz Benq, 1 144hz Benq monitors

50mbps down/3mbps up

Oh also when I use my Elgato chatlink cable hooked up to my PC i'm getting major feedback. My buddy that was in party with me said it was loud as heck, couldn't understand anything I was saying. Any help on setting this all up right would be greatly appreciated.

you dont use the elgato when streaming local PC games. only consoles and other PCs. you want to use a different scene when streaming game capture to local games. also, use OBS studios when using multiple GPUs as that game capture has a multiGPU option to make things smoother.

I do have a seperate scene for PS4 which uses the elgato, and Monitor capture for my PC. Where would I find OBS studios is that an option, or a whole different version of the program?

dont run the two at the same time. you will need to rebuild everything but check out the new options and be carefui what you change. as for OBS Studios, it is a brand new build from scratch

Really appreciate the responses but could you explain that a little further? Sounds like you think I meant I run the two scenes at the same time which I think would be impossible. I'll try the Studio download when I get home from work to see what it has to offer. Been out of the PC world for quite sometime so I'm just getting used to doing these kinda things again. Again the help is greatly appreciated :)

with your two GPUs in SLI you will need to run a game capture source for your game with a multiGPU option. this will be in the game capture properties.

So basically if I understand this right I can't run SLI while just using a monitor capture?
the two have nothing to do with eachother. SLI doesn't run on your desktop anyway. monitor capture does not work very well mixed with any other modes (game capture, capture card, etc)

the point is, when you run a game, with game capture OBS studios has a mode for that.

I get ya...this doesn't really affect me as I only use a capture card for console gaming which isn't using my gpu's. I also just found out in the H1Z1 forums that SLI use is broken in the game. Is there anyway to dedicate one card to streaming, and the other for gaming?
