Question / Help Help with RECORDING Settings

Hey I currently stream with OBS but I want to start recording with it too and I need some really good 720p 60fps HD settings for when I record here are my specs:

✦CPU - AMD FX 6350 6 CORE 3.9GHz

✦MOBO - Asus M5A97

✦RAM - G.Skill NS 14GB

✦GPU - ASUS STRIX 960

✦PSU - CORSAIR CX 600W

✦STORAGE - 1TB SEAGATE

First, FX6300 wont run 720@60 well along with a game. I would recommend 720@30 at most even when overclocked.

Second, 14GB of RAM?!? what are your different modules you are running? 4GB 4GB 4GB 2GB? the reason I ask is if your RAM is not identical, you wont be running in dual channel mode.

I have 4 sticks two 4s and two 3's but i took out my 3's so yeah i only have 8 rn

Or just use NVENC and throw a high bitrate at it.

Or, if you're talking about making high quality local recordings of your stream, and if you have Windows 10, you could use OBS-MP to stream at whatever you normally do while recording locally with NVENC.

ok, it just looked odd. yeah with NVENC you can do 720@60 but a few things.

if you are both streaming and recording simultaniously, you need to use CBR for the stream to work on stream. I would actually recommend OBS Multiplatform because you can stream at 3000 bitrate and record at a higher bitrate, but I think OBS MP needs windows 10?

The Media Foundation encoders added in OBS-MP 0.12.0 are a little quirky. NVENC requires Windows 10, Quick Sync requires Haswell or better, etc.
