Hi,

i need a bit help with HW requirement for my TV which is dedicated for quake mode DeFRaG which is bassicaly one big comunity of speedrunners...

Quake had a very very low requirements for GPU so i am using intel HD 4600 on cpu i5-4670K, but...
I wanted 1080p 60fps 4000-5000bitrate, sadly my calculations were wrong and i am able to stream now only 720p 4000bitrate but only 40fps with 20% average usage of CPU by Quake and 60-70% of OBS.

Some ppl are saying to me that i have made a misstake and i should buy AMD 8core cpu and it will run the 1080p 50-60fps 4000-5000 bitrate.
Others are saying that AMD 8cores are the same like intel 4cores.
Or should i buy i7 with hyperthreading (i7-4770) + i wont need gpu and might be able to finally get my 50-60fps 4000-5000bitrate and atleast 720p

By the way i have on my other computer gtx 660ti that i could use - will this resolve my problems ?

, please help me figure out what should i do.

specs:
4GB 1600mhz ram
64GB SSD
i5-4670K

Thanks for help gys i really do appreciate it.

Best regards,

Yes, the GTX660Ti will take care of your issue. With the 660Ti your frame rate will go up, your CPU usage might go down (some) and you'll have a better streaming experience.

That said your CPU is pretty powerful, you shouldn't be having some of issues you described. Post your stream details (or better yet a log), and maybe we can help you get more out of what you have.

I love AMD, but their stuff isn't very good for this type of work, and with you already having an Intel system has some beef, you don't need to switch.

u were right, 660ti solved my problems !! :)) but one more thing i have 60fps 4000bitrate because twitch server wont allow me more even tho i have 12mbps - its gets RED status on right bottom corner when i do like 5000+bitrate...
Preset is High quality - is there any better preset for OBS ?:)

With this settings i have stable 125fps ingame which is great.., but some are saying that when i have cpu preset on "faster" it was actualy better quality - is it possible ??

i7's are way more powerful compared to fx8xxx cores when it comes to streaming

then again 1080p60 will always be really intense on your cpu but since your game is almost not using any cpu you should be fine running 1080p60 but i think your gpu will still limit you since its and igpu

your current i5 will be maxed out when streaming at 1080p60 and playing on the same machine a dedicated gpu might take some stress away but it wont do any wonder.

changing presets especially to slower presets when streaming 1080p60 on an i5 is almost impossible.

i'd rather suggest hopping over to your gtx 660 or something newer and downscale your settings a bit 720p60 will be fine and wont tax your cpu as hard and you dont have to use such high bitrates
