Looking for a live stream setup for twitch but having issues working out what would be the best setup.

I have streamed for awhile on a 1 pc setup with the avermedia Live gamer HD pci card but was losing way too many frames when streaming so i sold it again.

I want to go with a 2 pc setup so my gaming system doesnt losing frames when streaming.
Current setup:

Gamer pc:
Intel i5 3550
16gb ram
GTX 670

Laptop:
Intel i5-3210M 2.50ghz
8gb ram
GTX 720m

Im wondering if i should buy a portable capture card...would the system setup be ok??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Never buy a USB 2.0 device when you have an internal device, internal cards are superior. (Though USB 3.0 are superior to both)

What specifically are you capturing with your capture device? If you're capturing the same PC, then you shouldn't do that -- it's better to use game capture or window capture. Could you post a log?

What specifically are you confused about? The i5-3210M in your laptop won't make for a very powerful streaming computer but I suppose technically it would work. An external capture device would be required since you can't install a capture card in the laptop. Unfortunately there aren't many good external capture devices on the market as the ones utilizing USB2 have all kinds of issues. For the best results you'd need to spend a bit more money on something like an XCAPTURE-1 or an ExtremeCap U3 if your laptop has the required Intel or Renesas USB3 controller.
