Hello! I used to stream a long time ago in twitch. But than i stop playing. Now im playing again and i want to stream again but im having a few issues. I mainly stream the game Smite.
This is my rig:
Computer: Laptop Clevo w370et
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro WMC
CPU: Intel i7-3630QM @ 2.40GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M 2GB DDR5
Memory: 12GB Kingston Hyper-X Genesis 1600MHz DDR3
HDD1: Hybrid 500GB Seagate Momentus XT SATA3
HDD2: 1TB Western Digital Scorpio Blue
Network: Killer 1202
Screen: 17.3” Mate
Mouse: Logitech G300
Mouse Pad: Razer eXactMat
Headset: Ozone Strato Evo 5.1
I know that a laptop is a little bit limited. But thats what i have. A long time ago i used to stream with downscale to 720p@30fps @5000bps with x264 veryfast. The stream had good quality and i was able to play the game at max settings.
Now im having some issues. I cant stream at more than 2500~3000bps and the game starts to run very slow. Even if i lower the settings of the game, it will run slow. I noticed that my cpu usage isnt going higher than 40~50%. Ive also tried quicksync (better results on performance than x264 but got lower quality and audio lag) and NVENC (best performance i got but lower stream quality and no audio lag).
Can you guys give me a few tips plz? I think obs is trying to use mainly the GPU instead of the CPU. Can i make it use more CPU and leave the GPU to the game?
