Question / Help Help setting up a League of Legends stream

Hi guys! So, I need you help to set up my League of Legends stream. It feels like I got the requirements to set up a nice non-partnered stream, but I just don't have any clue at all which settings I should use.

I put up a thread a few weeks ago and tried a few things out but after some thinking it would be best if I just started from scratch again. My speccs below.

Computer:
Motherboard: ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition (Noctua cpu-cooler)
Graphics: MSI GeForce GTX 760 TWINFROZR 2MB OC Edition
Memory: 8GB Corsair CL9 1600Mhz LowProfile

Internet connection:
Upload: 11.9Mbps - Got it on testmy.net with a 6MB Select size.

Got 1440x900 as my native resolution but I do know that I will have to downscale it to 720p, due to me not being a partnered streamer.

Want help as soon as possible so I can try it out when I play some ranked teams tonight! ;)

Reinstalling OBS doesn't delete the logs, unless you went into %appdata% and manually deleted the OBS settings folder. If you did this, or for whatever other reason your logs actually aren't available, then I suggest doing a test stream with your current settings so you'll have a log file to provide.

Would generally use the estimator as was linked. Though generally you should be able to do 3000 bitrate, 1.25 downscale, and either 30 or 60fps, whichever you want. You should be able to handle it just fine. Shouldn't be too difficult to set up, your system is pretty good, and your internet seems pretty good.

Oh ok Sapiens.

But what about CBR, some say that you should run 10 quality and such, and some say that you should have Use CBR checked in, which should I use? It may sound as a retarded question when the estimators says Use CBR, but some streamers run 10 in quality. Don't know what's best in my situation but would be awesome to have the best quality possible for my setup, without the stream being unstable ofcourse :)

No need to bump your thread, especially not after such a short amount of time. CBR should be used for live streaming as it provides a more consistent data rate for both Twitch to process and your viewers to receive. It's also one of the Twitch.tv broadcast requirements, which is why OBS gives a big red warning when you don't use it, your Twitch dashboard gives you a big warning when you don't use it, and the estimator suggests to use it. :)

Bumping again due to a problem occuring while stream, It seems like its buffering then goes offline.

I don't understand obslogs at all so I've uploaded one so you can check out what the problem is :s

I tried diffrent servers and the problem seems to still be there (amsterdam and stockholm servers)

You're encoding in a weird resolution and at 60fps:

Video Encoding: x264
fps: 60
width: 1152, height: 720

Why not bump your game resolution down to 1280x720 and capture and stream at that, in 30 fps, way way less work for your computer.

Tried setting my resolution down to 1280x720 and I gets blurry and unplayable actually :/

Can't see the problem with the computer working, it's not effecting my gameplay :s

PS: I tried out streaming with 1280x720 with the same bitrate etc, and the buffering still occurs :o

It's a 16:10 base resolution downscaled to that aspect ratio's equivalent of 720p. His native resolution is 1440x900 and forcing an output resolution with a different aspect ratio will only result in pillarboxing or a stretched image. Additionally an 8350 should have no problem streaming most things at 60 FPS at that preset. None of this is related to his question.

The error you're getting means that either you entered the wrong stream key in OBS or the Twitch servers think you're still connected and are rejecting your subsequent connection attempts. You can try generating a new stream key at http://www.twitch.tv/broadcast/dashboard/streamkey. If that doesn't work, you'll just have to wait a bit for your old connection to time out. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.

Oh ok, thanks again Sapiens for all the help, will try that out after some sleep! :)

But what about the logfile I attached? Does everything seem ok? It's all text to me so I feel kinda lost. Is there some sort of explaination about the logfiles (dropping frames etc)? Would be awesome to be able to clear out problems on my own so that I wont be asking for help 24/7! :)

I don't know of a guide explaining all of the log file information, but we do have a log file analyzer at https://obsproject.com/analyzer that can parse the log and try to offer suggestions/detect problems. The log file you posted didn't have any issues other than "Connection to rtmp://live-arn.justin.tv/app failed: Kunde inte komma åt den angivna kanalen eller streamnyckeln. Din angivna streamnyckel/kanal kan vara ogiltig, eller så tror servern att du fortfarande är inloggad på din tidigare anslutning." which is fairly self-explanatory.

Awesome then!

Would you look at that, exactly what you explained but only in swedish, didn't notice my errors in the obs logfiles being in swedish all of a sudden.

Thanks again!

That log looks fine and you weren't disconnected from Twitch. If your only issue now is frequent playback buffering then it's likely related to http://blog.twitch.tv/2013/12/service-u ... is-online/ and/or an inability to get 3 Mbps down from the Twitch servers. Nothing you can do to fix that (short of lowering your bitrate) as it's Twitch's problem and not yours.
