Question / Help Help posting an OBS video to Youtube

Hi all. With the help of this forum, I've begun to record videos of my gameplay. I have one such video that I captured (using the specs listed in this OBS guide). The video is in FLV format, and I'd like to crudely edit it, then post to Youtube, with minimal loss in quality. Unfortunately my two attempts have resulted in either very poor resolution and/or a mismatched ratio (the uploaded video was squished).

Here are the general tools I've used:

1. Convert to MP4, using a free online converter--Free MP3 Video Converter--run with default settings.
2. Edit with Windows Movie Maker, using the "Save movie for high definition display" option and saving as MP4.

I'm (clearly?) not well versed in the different video file formats, so please explain if and where I have erred. Please let me know if you need more information.

If there is an existing guide to this on the forums, I'd love to be pointed to it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Boildown Thanks for your suggestions. My issue turned out to be...wait for it...user error :-) It turns out I wasn't giving Youtube long enough to properly process my video. So it appeared low resolution. When I gave it some more time, the Youtube video resolution went up to match what I was seeing on my computer.

But the OBS Studio remux option was new to me, so I'll continue to use it in the future. We can consider this closed. Thanks again.
