Question:
How can I monitor output with my studio monitor headphones connected to my audio interface (scarlett 2i2) when selecting "Monitor + Output"? Currently unable due to looping/feedback.
Everything works properly when Mic/Aux is in "monitor off" setting. However, when I switch to "Monitor + Output", any audio - whether my own voice (mic) or some desktop audio - will cause the stream to loop or feedback, essentially creating a noise run-away.
I believe the issue has to do with "Monitoring Device" being set to my Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen, which is where my studio monitor is connected. I think this because when I switch the Monitoring Device to another output (eg speakers), the issue goes away. Clearly somehow the audio from the output is being re-injected into the mic input, but I feel like I should be able to monitor the output on my studio monitor headphones (connected to Scarlett) without that
occurring.
My setup is below, thanks for any help! I know I can not monitor my output but that's less than ideal.
Hardware:
- Macbook Pro
- Scarlett 2i2
- BlueBird Mic (plugged into Scarlett)
- Beyerdyanamic DT 770 Pro studio monitor (plugged into Scarlett)
Preferences Configuration:
