OK folks. I have been working on this for 3 days almost nonstop.

I can record (usually my guitar) in OBS just fine. it sounds great.
I can record my guitar in my DAW, it sounds great.
I can't record from any DAW (tried Ableton light, and reaper) to OBS without clipping sounds in the playback after.

setup"
DAW - Ableton Live 11 Light
-using reapers REASTREAM to hook it to OBS (send on DAW side, REC on OBS side)
-using sound files for testing - same clipping sound on OBS side
-using guitar sims in DAW and I get same clipping on OBS side

OBS - ver 30.0.2 64 bit
-set up a test scene to be sure. Called it DAW
- added three sources - two audio inputs and a webcam (video device capture)
-on input #1 I have the device set to VM Potato: VB-Audio VoiceMeter AUX VAIO)
-on same input #1 I added a filter - audio monitor and assigned it to Cable Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)
-on input #2 I assigned it to device: Stereo Mix (Realtek(R) Audio)
-on same input #2 I set a filter to VST2 Plug-in and assigned that to reastream-standalone
-on same plugin #2 I assigned another filter to Audio Monitor and also assigned it to Cable Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)

Sample rate set to 48000 and 128 buffer size.
All sound settings are matched to 2 CH and 48000
def playback is Voicemeter VAIO3
record is set to Voicemeter AUX Output

input #2 is set to mono in advanced setting for audio. and that's about it...

The next odd thig is if I mess with the bitrate and or buffer it will sometimes sound good... but then after close and open it goes back to bad. but mostly it just sounds like an audio file with nonstop clipping sound.

please listen to the attached file... I need help... this is driving me nuts :(
