I'm really hoping someone here can help me out with some audio issues. I've posted here in the past here about this issue, with no luck.

I am running a Hauppauge HD PVR2 with OBS using monitor capture (sub-region)... Sucks I know, but there isn't another way. I have an astro a40 headset hooked up to my xbox and my pc. I like to listen to audio through both.

When i run the monitor capture, in order to get the audio from my xbox one, I have the audio coming through the Hauppauge software. But since I have the audio from the console coming through the console to the headset and through the software on the pc ot my headset... I hear the same thing twice, but about 1-2 seconds after.

Has anyone run this setup before? The only way i can get this to actually work is to have the audio from my PC go to a virtual audio cable (so music/videos/etc) so i cant hear them, only to not hear the same audio repeated. A very painful work around.

Are there any better options out there, than just buying a new capture card? I'm not opposed to doing it, i just don't really want to buy another one.

Use OBS Multiplatform. It has support (workarounds for their non-standards-compliant methods) for the HDPVR built in. A better capture card should really be considered though.
