Question / Help HDPVR 2 Gaming Edition not working/red screen

I have just been using screen capture then selecting the region, but I want the stream to be able to hear the ingame sounds of my PS3 so I want to use it as a video device the only problem is when I do so and set it up with 1280x720 and 720p 30FPS it only shows as blank red screen no matter even if there is nothing else in the scene at all. Can anyone help me out with this problem?

Using what version of OBS?

Open Broadcaster Software v0.657b I think that's it.

The HDPVR is not supported in that version.
And it won't be.

It is supported in obs studio.

The old obs tree (the one you chose at first) is dead development-wise.

in OBS studio when I select video capture or game capture it shows only a black screen and clue why? EDIT: I am using 0.12.3

Video capture device.
The HDPVR doesn't initialize on system reboot unless you run the software that comes with it then close it.

So what do I need to do then to get it to work?

Every time you restart your computer, you MUST launch and then close the software for the HDPVR
