EDIT: My issue has been resolved. It seems that on a ASUS Z97 Sabertooth Mark 2, there is one step less required (you don't need two screens and you don't need to fake connect a screen). Also, one thing to note, my monitor is connected through HDMI (I don't know if that changes anything).
Hello,
This is my first post on this forum, and this isn't a usual Quick Sync problem, so please hear me out.
OK, I've been tinkering with Quick Sync for the past few days, and the problem is that even though I have enabled it in the BIOS and installed the drivers for the integrated card, I can't get the fake monitor to show up in the screen resolution menu (desktop -> right click -> screen resolution).
Now I've been thinking about it, and I just want to get a confirmation if my assumption is correct. I have the ASUS Z97 Sabertooth Mark 2 motherboard, it has quick sync support, and I have the i5-4670k, which also has quick sync support.
My theory is that since the motherboard doesn't have a VGA port (but it does have an HDMI and a DP), it won't show up in windows?
So basically to run quick sync I would need a second monitor?
Forgot to mention, my graphics card is a Radeon 6870 (it's from my old PC, I'm buying a new one soon), so I'm not sure, if it's not the motherboard, maybe it's something with AMD drivers?
I posted this after reading through a lot of posts on this and various other forums, and couldn't find this kind of a problem anywhere.
